چکیده
This review focuses on the consequences of early and rapid deployment carbon dioxide (CO2) capture storage (CCS) technologies, which is currently recognized as a critical problem in fulfilling climate change mitigation objectives viable alternative for countries throughout world. Currently, geological CO2 most effective and, many cases, only short- to medium-term considerably moving towards sequestration sinks thus, lowering net emissions into atmosphere. Furthermore, this explores global environmental measurements emissions, well emphasis behind more efficient energy usage. The components CCS system are briefly examined, with an technologies that have been developed by previous scholars support capture, kinds formations suitable CO2. Additionally, importance interaction unconventional examined through case studies applied coalbed seams shale gas reservoirs. Numerous trapping processes grouped introduced constructive matrix easily distinguish broad mechanisms, (1) chemical, (2) physicochemical, (3) physical trapping, each these categories further classified depth based their contribution storage.

Geological Sequestration of CO2: Mechanisms and Kinetics of CO2 Reactions in Mafic and Ultramafic Rock Formations
We investigated the interactions between CO2-rich fluids and Mg-silicate minerals using experiments to provide information on reaction rates and to identify potential catalysts for the reactions, and studies of natural analogues to assess the conditions that lead to massive carbonation of ultramafic rocks and thus the potential for field-scale implementation. Key findings from our exploratory w...
متن کاملGeological Sequestration of CO2: Mechanisms and Kinetics of CO2 Reactions in Mafic and Ultramafic Rock Formations
The main purpose of this exploratory project is to develop a more fundamental understanding of the long-term sequestration of CO2 via mineral carbonation reactions involving the common Mg-silicates in serpentinite and basalt mineral assemblages. Past experimental studies have shown that these reactions are kinetically limited, so we are exploring ways to enhance their kinetics, including the us...
متن کاملModeling the Sequestration of CO2 in Deep Geological Formations
Modeling the injection of CO 2 and its sequestration will require simulations of a multi-well injection system in a large reservoir field. However, modeling at the injection well scale is a necessary prerequisite to reservoir scale modeling. We report on the development and application of two models: 1) a semi-analytical model (PNLCARB), and 2) a numerical model (STOMP-CO 2). PNLCARB can simula...
متن کاملSeparation and capture of CO2 from large stationary sources and sequestration in geological formations.
The topic of global warming as a result of increased atmospheric CO2 concentration is arguably the most important environmental issue that the world faces today. It is a global problem that will need to be solved on a global level. The link between anthropogenic emissions of CO2 with increased atmospheric CO2 levels and, in turn, with increased global temperatures has been well established and ...
متن کاملSome Geomechanical Aspects of Geological CO2 Sequestration
Reservoir depletion and subsequent CO2 injection into the depleted geological reservoir induce stress changes that may mechanically damage top seal and wells, or trigger existing faults, creating the leakage pathways for CO2 escape from the reservoir. The role of geomechanics is to assess the mechanical impact of stress changes on seals, wells and faults. Since many hydrocarbon fields are geome...
